Before I list my qualifications and experiences, I think you might be more interested to know my approach and philosophy as it pertains to strength training.
Here’s the deal: I know the vast majority of us are not especially passionate about picking up heavy things and putting them down, or taxing our heart and lungs to the point of fighting for breath only to recover, rinse and repeat. That is understandable and I am right there with you.
What we do know however, is that our bodies are made to move. Our mental, emotional and physical health is exponentially improved by an active lifestyle. Bodies that strength train become leaner, are better equipped to fight disease, and our bones become stronger. In contrast to western medications, there are no negative side effects of working out and eating healthfully!
Zero.
There are risks, sure. But I would risk a bit’o’soreness any day for the benefit of a clear mind, energy, and enough muscle to get me through any adventure I so choose.
So the whole point of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, etc. is really just to be the catalyst for something greater. Whatever adventure you choose, be it playing with your children, winning championships, getting off of medication, being more physically independent, or traveling the world, fitness is what breaks the limits and paves the path for the life you really want to be living.
I have been lucky enough to work with an incredible range of athletes from olympic hopefuls to weekend warriors, youth athletes, and adults who have never touched weights before meeting me. I love the experience of working with good humans, no matter the goals.
When we train together, it is a fully collaborative effort between us and your support system. We build you up gradually and intentionally in order to get you to where you want to go. We will learn, laugh, probably swear, definitely sweat and hopefully, eventually weave movement and/or the next level of performance into your daily life.

Translation:
I coach trainers and coaches. I teach a course to fitness professionals that is a system created by and utilized in one of the top training facilities in the country. CFSC stands for “Certified Functional Strength Coach”, and the facility it is born from is Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning, in Woburn, MA.
The CFSC Levels 1 & 2 are 1, for general population fitness, and 2, for more athletic strength and conditioning. I not only teach these, but I had to go through them myself and prove proficiency.
SFG stands for “Strong First Girya”. Girya is the word in Russian for kettlebell. This certification means I have undergone intensive training and technique coaching using kettlebells.
FMS stands for “Functional Movement Systems” and is a tool utilized by movement professionals from trainers, to physical therapists, chiropractors, etc. to assess an individuals movement patterns. This means I have been trained to be able to fully assess and reassess clients instead of purely using subjective observational assessments.
Precision Nutrition is a leading diet and nutrition education and resource company. With my level one certification, I have undergone months of training on habit based nutrition coaching.
K3 is a combination of teaching that familiarizes you with the roots of tactically derived human performance theory and progresses into detailed instruction and hands-on practice.
USAW stands for USA Olympic Weightlifting and is a certification in the techniques used by traditional olympic weightlifting athletes.
NASM stands for the “National Academy of Sports Medicine” and is a leading personal training education and certification system.
